The man, the myth, the legend "RP3"

SEATTLE—RP3, Ryan2stlye, Rdrizzle. These are all the names one man goes by, but the full title for the three-athlete star is Ryan Philips. Philips is an all-around athlete who is getting ready to show off that athleticism on the track field.

You already know Philips can run mean routes on the football field, shoot a famous “RP3” from deep in the Tacoma Dome, but now he gets ready to run that 400 on the track team for his very last time in an O’Dea uniform.

Ryan Philips, his third year on the track team, is ready to come back to bigger and better things from last year’s track season. Philips is looking forward to the opportunity to coach up his brothers.

He paved the way for his younger O’Dea brothers, moving into more leadership roles as a senior and having a lot of experience on the track. Undergoing teaching from the many coaches, Philips looks to be that motivator for his guys.

He makes sure that not only does he give his 100%, but his brothers do the same.

Philips had a great Junior year, stating, “I had a great year, putting in the work with Coach P, and it is paying off in the stretch of the season when it matters the most.”

And to say it in the most humbling way, Philips had a great Junior season. He placed 4th in the Metro League championship for the 400m dash, 1st with the 4x1 relay team in the Metro championship, and had his brothers represent O’Dea in state.

Philip Knows what a year he had, but he hasn’t flexed all that. Not having an ego with anyone. It’s really him against him, RP vs RP, running down that track. He shows up to workouts like everyone else, puts his head down, and works.

Philips: “I want to be better. I want to be better, not just for me but for others who are watching.”

Having all eyes on this year, Philips is ready to show out and leave it all on the field one last time.
