Recently, three of our staff writers sampled the local sandwich chains on First Hill. The following are their reviews of the Big Three.

Matthew Linares:

Subway has become a popular eating spot for students at O'Dea High School. The sandwich chain has gained a reputation among students for its customizable menu, allowing them to create their perfect sandwich. One of the key reasons why O'Dea students love Subway is its commitment to providing fresh and high-quality ingredients. Subway offers a range of choices, including a selection of bread, meats, cheeses, and vegetables. Subway's convenient location near O'Dea also makes it a convenient choice for students looking for a fast meal to eat. Whether they're grabbing lunch or stopping by after school, Subway is a convenient and welcoming environment for students to enjoy their favorite sandwiches.

Markus Winkler-Cook: O'Dea students should opt for Jimmy John's over Subway and Potbelly for several reasons. Firstly, Jimmy John's offers a wide selection of freshly made sandwiches with high-quality ingredients, ensuring both taste and nutrition. Their quick service aligns well with the fast-paced lifestyle of students, ensuring they can grab a satisfying meal between classes without sacrificing time. Additionally, Jimmy John's emphasizes speedy delivery, perfect for students who prefer to dine in the comfort of their dorm rooms or study spaces. With their focus on efficiency, freshness, and flavor, Jimmy John's presents a superior option for O'Dea students seeking a delicious and convenient dining experience.

Will Morton:

Potbelly is a great choice for anyone looking for a quick, filling, healthy hit of food. When I visited I was able to watch everything they did to prepare my sandwich, It was quick efficient, and a bang for my buck. I was able to get a footlong sandwich for just 10 bucks and added chips and a drink for an extra 5 dollars. Potbelly however has more than just sandwiches, it has a large option of soup, breakfast items, salads, mac and cheese, and even deserts. I think these extras push Potbelly up the sandwich shop ladder. Overall I think Potbelly is a huge hit and can compete with existing sandwich shops.
