SEATTLE- Senior All-American running back Jason Brown got only 8 carries on Friday night, but made the most of them as the Irish of O'Dea beat the Bishop Blanchet Bears 51-21.
Brown who is a highly targeted recruit by many schools lead the Irish to victory on Friday night with 4 touchdowns on 8 carries. Brown knows since there are many talented running backs on the field that his snaps will be limited, but he sure does make the most of them.
Even though the Irish took a convincing win over the Bears no team is perfect.
O'Dea junior King Allah talks about O'Dea's struggles even through the convincing victory over the Bears.
It was a "mental struggle on where everyone was at a time."
Allah talks again about the game and his favorite part, which was Jason Brown's first touchdown of the 4 he had that game.
"It gave us the spark to keep going,"The junior stated.
The first touchdown must have really given the Irish a spark because they would go on to score two more times in the first quarter with the quarter ending at 21-0.
O'Dea would eventually get into the half winning 31-7.
After half O'Dea let up a little bit with putting in JV players and benching their starters. Even with this though the Irish still took a commanding win 51-21.
Brown tried to one up his freshmen season stat of scoring 5 times against the Bears but could not because O'Dea's coaching staff are trying to rest the unit for the game in three weeks against O'Dea's number one rival Eastside Catholic, but before that the Irish will look to keep on rolling this Friday against Rainer Beach at Memorial Stadium.
