SEATTLE-The O’Dea wrestling team had another great season in Metro placing 4th behind the juggernauts Ingham placing first. The Irish saw a lot more participation this year with Coach Balinbins squad.

O’Dea got fourth in Metros this year but went 6-1 overall in match play, only losing to Ingraham who went on to place first and go undefeated. The Irish did all of this with one of their best wrestlers battling injuries the whole season. Junior Adam Kloeppel, who was a state participant in his sophomore and freshman years.

Kloeppel was battling a shoulder injury from last year's surgery and would place 5th in Metros and was on the road to state until a concussion damaged his ability to play at regionals.

O’Dea had a lot of Metro placers this year with senior Vihn Ball placing 1st in Metros and eventually would go on to win state in his weight class (120). As well as Nathanial Bradley (138) finishing 1st in metros, he went to state.  Johan Martin (215) placed second in Metros at Chief Sealth High School and went to participate in state.

Ball could not participate last year due to transfer rules, transferring from Rainer Beach High School he had to sit out. During the season this year Ball also partially tore one of his ACLs. But would power through the pain and place in the Dome.

O’Dea had a great season, winning a lot as the Irish tend to do, injuries held the Irish back but they prevailed and brought a couple rings back to Terry Ave.
