inolan24

SEATTLE- The Spring sports season is coming to an end. O’Dea wasn’t as successful as they always are.

The Irish baseball team had a great regular season. They were led by Seniors Isaiah Nolan, Patrick Galvin, Basil Hendrix, Vaugn Lowe, and Davis Downer. Junior Quincy Brown was also a key contributor for the team.

They finished the season with the number 1 seed in the metro league with a outstanding 17-3 record.

They didn’t play as good as they wanted to in the first round of playoffs against prep. They dropped that game 6-3 and then played Lincoln in a loser out game. They ended up losing that game and their hopes of a state title were ended.

Even though their season didn’t go how they wanted, the Irish had a lot of individuals that will be honored by All Metro League selections.

The Irish soccer team didn’t clinch state either. They ended their season at 7-5-2. They won a big elimination game against one of the bets teams in the state Lakeside. Their season then depended on a loser out game against Garfield and they ended up dropping that game 2-1.

Even though the Irish soccer team did not finish the way they wanted they too will have many athletes praised at the end of the season.

The Irish Tennis team has one athlete playing in the playoffs. Senior Lorenzo Neri is on to districts for the Irish tennis team. He looks to make a run at a state championship.

Irish lacrosse is the only team that can win a state championship left.

Senior Oscar Clark says, “We have a really good chance at finishing the job. If we keep playing like we have our end goal will be accomplished.”

The Irish Lax team is 15-3 this year and is a 3a powerhouse in the state of Washington. They are already in the state semifinals for lacrosse. They must win two more games to hang a banner and get a ring. They had 9 players make an all-metro team which is the most in the state.

Finally, the Irish Track team is still alive. They have multiple athletes who are competing for a state championship in their respective events.
