Showdown of Metro League giants: O’Dea football team against Blanchet 51-21.
SEATTLE- On Friday, September 8, in a much-anticipated clash on the gridiron, the two powerhouses of football, O’Dea Irish and Blanchet Bears, squared off in a thrilling match ending with a score of 51-21 with the Irish on top.
Standout players like Antone Araujo, Jason Brown Jr., Christian Winn, Luther Hill, and Quinn White all had big-time games.
Brown was the star with nine carries, 210 yards, 23.3 yards on average, and four touchdowns. Brown was unstoppable, pushing through anyone and everyone on the Bears defense. He showed why he is considered a top running back in Washington state.
Brown’s game was aided by a shout-out performance from Araujo, whose quarterback rating was 120.8. Araujo threw ten passes and connected with all ten, showing his incredible accuracy. At the end of the game, he had over 100 yards, which helped him secure one touchdown.
It does not stop there. Like Araujo and Brown, Winn showed why he belongs on the field. Winn, who had ten carries and 95 yards 5 yards from a dominating 100-yard game, averaged 9.5 yards per carry, resulting in 2 touchdowns.
Blanchet showed huge issues in stopping the run, Which O’Dea seized—allowing O’Dea to score multiple rushing touchdowns, embarrassing the Blanchet defense.
While not having any touchdowns, White still performed at an elite level. He bullied his way down the field with four carries and 41 yards. Averaging 10.3 yards, he was crucial in the O’Dea’s win over Blatchet.
Like White, Hill could not score any touchdowns, but that is not to say he did poorly. Instead, Hill was a driving force for the Fighting Irish win over Blanchet, with four carries, 31 yards total, and an average of 7.8 yards a carry. Hill played a great game of football.
