SEATTLE - Atop the snowy mountains carving his way through the glistening white snow, O'Dea senior Jackson Boone Davis loves his lifelong hobby of slaloming down a ski slope and how he likes skiing because of the scenic beauty of the environment. He also enjoys skiing because of the thrill of going fast.

Davis enjoys the Mission Ridge slopes starting to ski between the ages of three and four. It wasn’t his ultimatum to start skiing but he has come to love the sport and it has become his overwhelming passion.

Mission Ridge is a huge ski resort with lots of available space to find your path.

“The best ski runs I would say, is not any ski runs at all, but off-trail skiing or tree skiing,” exclaimed Davis.

Davis’ whole family skis and everyone loves the thrill of going fast. Their family has been dedicated to the sport and even holds family vacations at ski resorts throughout the ski season, from November through March.

Davis doesn’t just love going fast down the mountain, but also takes pleasure in other areas of the sport.

Davis explains how “the snow and powder are challenging, but more engaging than the straight-line speed.”

Davis enjoys more than just skiing with his family though, he enjoys the beautiful memories that skiing with friends can create. The excitement of seeing how your friend gets down the mountain’s slopes, or the competition of who can go faster.

However, Davis doesn’t just ski at Mission Ridge. He also enjoys the slopes at Stevens Pass, one of Washington’s most notorious ski resorts. Other resorts include The Summit at Snoqualmie Pass and Crystal Mountain Resort.

In middle school and earlier years skiing Davis engaged with an extracurricular called, Ski Bus. Ski Bus is most commonly run by an organization called Mohan.

Mohan provides opportunities to kids, like Davis, to night ski on Fridays and have fun with Friends.

Davis looks forward to this upcoming season starting very soon in November and has huge plans with friends and family to continue enjoying the journey and scenic experiences.
