Mike Doyle’s comes back full circle

SEATTLE- O’Dea alumni Mike Doyle has been bought into the brotherhood for 30 years. Doyle graduated from O’Dea in 1997. Doyle attended Gonzaga University after his time at O’Dea. He was an outstanding baseball player and ended up walking on at Gonzaga to play for the team.


Doyle is a very familiar name around the community. His father coached and went to O’Dea as well, so he is respected.


After graduating Gonzaga Doyle ended up accepting a role to teach at O’Dea. He eventually became a baseball coach as well. He has brought home 3 state championships for the Fighting Irish.


On the diamond, Doyle doesn’t switch up. He wants what is best for all his players. Doyle has been one of the best if not the best baseball coach is the school’s history.

The O’Dea brotherhood has been a long-lasting term to describe the school’s community and reputation.


Doyle says, “O’Dea made me have respect for everyone around me and the people that care about me.”


Doyle talks about his calling back to Terry Ave.


He says, “It’s a family and I’m all about that. I felt a sort of calling back to this place.”

Coach Doyle believes in the brotherhood. He believes in all the young men at the school and wants what is best for them.


Being a graduate, he understands what the students there are feeling like and have been in their position before. He strives to do as much as he can for school.


He is involved in every aspect of the school. He works in transportation, leadership, athletics, and academics. He is an example of an O’Dea gentleman in every facet.


Doyle was recognized on the wall of honor at the school. Out of all the alumni a hand selected few get inducted. He has done so much for the school and will continue to be a mentor and leader for years to come.
