SEATTLE- O’Dea wins 40-0 over a tough Union team Friday night at West Seattle stadium. With a big game from running back Jason Brown the Irish were able to run all over Union's defense.

“A standout player was Jason Brown,” says Kellen Shaffer a senior and the punter for the Irish.

Jason Brown had a total of 137 yards with just 8 carries and along with 2 touchdowns. But Jason wouldn’t be able to accomplish this without his offensive line: Isendre Ahfua, Kai Holec, Finn Greenan, Julian Thomas-Goodson, and Kingston Fotualii.

But this game wasn’t won from the offensive side, it was in fact the defensive who kept the shutout the whole game. The O’Dea Irish defense came out the gate playing with high energy and making big hits. O’Dea’s defense was able to get sacks, tackles for loss, and even a pick-six from defensive end David Schwerzel.

Both offense and defense got the job done but don’t forget about special teams. Owen Livingston going 6/8 converting almost all kicks to always keep the O’Dea Irish up.

O’Dea was able to keep punter Kellen Shaffer off the field which was a good thing as the offense was just executing the whole time.

This was also a tough win as they had some key missing players.

Shaffer states, “Missing our starting quarterback Luke Danna”.
