SEATTLE-With the recent injury of senior quarterback Luke Danna, senior Antone Araujo is ready to be the starting quarterback for the O'Dea Fighting Irish football team. The Irish improved their season to 2-0 last Friday against the Blanchet bears.
Senior running back Jason Brown had another stellar game. He had 240 yards and 4 touchdowns. Junior King Allah says, “my favorite play from the game is when JB scored the first touchdown.”
Brown started the game with a bang. Allah says, “that play kind of got us going. We started off slow and sluggish and made a lot of mental mistakes.”
Araujo also had a great game facilitating the offense. He had 105 passing yards. He also had a touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Ryan Philips.
It was a rare sight seeing O’Dea dominate the passing game as well. O’Dea spread the ball. The Irish had 6 different ball carriers. Brown and senior running back Christian Winn were a great one two punch.
Winn had 95 rushing yards to add to the dominance on the ground.
The Irish play the Rainier Beach Vikings on Friday this week and look to improve their season to 3-0.
