Seattle - Riding the ramps to greatness, Hudson White's passion for BMX transforms adversity into triumph.
White has been riding BMX ever since he was able to pedal, he has gone through lots of ups and downs, but he has persevered through them all.
He finds that family and friends are the reason for his success.
His mom encourages him to continue working hard and never give up.
He spends lots of time working on his game by using ramps at his house and starting gates to work on his release time.
White is a 4x top 20 in his age.
He races for team SeaTac BMX
He is currently sitting 13th in the country for his age. He plans to race in the biggest race of the year in Tulsa, Oklahoma
White’s biggest inspiration to keep riding BMX through the ups and downs is his work ethic.
He trains every day, and it shows his rank in the nation.
White stated, “My biggest inspiration for competing in BMX is all of the time spent training and working hard for a race, and then finally getting that result that I had been wanting.”
White has been competing for the last 12 years of his life and is not looking back.
When he was little his dad decided to take him out to a track and after that, he knew that this is what he wanted to do for a living.
White said, “My dad took me out to the BMX track one time when I was little and that's how it all began.”
But throughout his career, he has dealt with a lot of injuries.
He has dislocated his shoulder 3 times, broke his collarbone, and had season-ending shoulder surgery in 2020 which put him out for a year.
These injuries have held him back but now he has bounced back and is competing at his best.
White told me “I dealt with the challenges head on and didn't back down. Each time I had to endure some physical therapy and the excruciating pain of patience, but each time I worked hard to get healthy again.”
White looks to win his upcoming tournament take home a medal and continue to climb the ranks in his BMX career.
